Unsere Aktivitäten im Sudan zu Beginn des neuen Jahrtausends

Die Schweizerische Vereinigung der Freunde von Schwester Emmanuelle (ASASE) ist eine nonprofit Nicht-Regierungsorganisation (NGO). ASASE ist offiziell als öffentliche Wohlfahrtsorganisation anerkannt, stützt sich nur auf Freiwilligenarbeit und ist keine religiöse Vereinigung.

Sie wurde 1979 gegründet, um Schwester Emmanuelle's Arbeit in Kairos Slums zu unterstützen. Seit 1986 kümmert sie sich die Organisation fast nur noch um den Sudan, besonders um die Strassenkinder.

Seit 1996 finanziert ASASE auch Aktivitäten von Haiti-Cosmos. Das ist eine Organisation, die 1993 in Genf gegründet wurde, um den Bewohnern der Hinche Ebene technische Unterstützung zukommen zu lassen.

DVD on ASASE's work

Patrick Bittar, an independent filmmaker, is proposing a personal view on the work of the association ASASE in Sudan.
Neither a promotional film, nor an art documentary, "The Children of the Nile" is an account of an admirable work in a country forgotten for too long by the media.

This 120' DVD presents 6 films, mostly in French:
1 – The history of ASASE told by its founders (27')
2 – Food project for small children (19')
3 – Homes for street children (24')
4 – Farms and workshops for teenagers (21')
5 – Professional training for adults (18')
6 – Medical program (8')

This DVD will make it possible, for those among you who do not know the achievements of ASASE through SVDP in Sudan, to discover them, and for the others to keep a precious and vivid testimony of them.
